Abhinav Bindra won India's first ever individual Olympic gold medal on Monday with a thrilling come-from-behind victory in the men's 10m air rifle.
Bindra signalled his intentions early on in the final, with a 10.7 on his first shot. None of Bindra's shots in the final dropped below 10.0.
The medal is India's first individual gold, and the first since 1980, when the hockey team emerged triumphant in Moscow.

He had won the 2006 world championships and finished seventh in Athens four years ago.
